What I Do Mentoring

Jane is a non-executive director of Yorkshire Mentoring a Community Interest Company which provides consultancy and training to enable organisations to implement mentoring programmes which support the development of people to progress in education, employability, volunteering or enterprise.



Support is able at all stages of mentoring:

  1. Reviewing and implementing relevant policies and procedures
  2. Recruiting and training mentors and mentees
  3. Matching mentors and mentees
  4. Providing on-going supervision, review and evaluation
  5. Reporting to funding organisations and management

Yorkshire Mentoring can also support organisation to identify and apply for funding to support the setting up of mentoring programmes.

Current projects include establishing mentoring programmes for Trinity Academy, Halifax for looked after children and Harrogate and District Mind for members recovering from mental health conditions.

The project started in July 2015 with a presentation at the AGM. This identified potential mentors and mentees.

Looked After Children mentoring project - Trinity Academy

The mentoring programme was based on a workbook developed by Yorkshire Mentoring which was completed by the mentors on behalf of the mentees. This included a baseline assessment covering areas such as attendance, behaviour, achievement and relationships.
